Many of us collect things. I chose absurdities.
This blog has a simple premise. It's a collection of common things that people do that are totally absurd. Frustratingly, there are many other blogs out there with absurd in the title. But this is one of only several hundred million that are properly about absurdity.
Hobbies, work, fashion, holidays, wars, games, politics, urban planning, housewares, eating, sleeping, DEFINITELY religion: The ways that we do these things are often absurd. Much of it goes unnoticed out of tradition and a sort of collective numbness to the nuttiness.
I point these out not out of hopes that people will abandon these absurd traditions, many of which are comforting and humorous for the outsider to watch, but only in hopes that perhaps more people will accept and, perhaps, choose absurdity! One of the fake absurdity blogs I found was called "God or Absurdity" My hope is that after reading this guide more people won't even bother confronting this false premise, and just emphatically CHOOSE ABSURDITY! Might as well! You already have... right?
